Grief and Loss

You don’t have to go through this alone. Therapy offers space to grieve at your own pace.

When Someone, or Something, Is Gone, Everything Feels Different

Grief can come like a tidal wave. Or it can arrive quietly, and linger.
It might be the death of a loved one. A relationship that ended. A future that didn’t happen.
Even when life “goes on,” part of you may still be sitting with the loss, unsure how to move forward.

Grief isn’t something to fix. It’s something to tend to.
Therapy can offer a space where your grief is welcome, in all its depth and complexity.

What Grief Can Look Like
  • Waves of sadness, anger, or emotional numbness

  • Feeling lost, foggy, or disconnected from life

  • Trouble sleeping, concentrating, or functioning “normally”

  • Regret, guilt, or things left unsaid

  • A sense of being changed, but unsure how

  • Avoiding reminders, or feeling overwhelmed by them

  • Others have “moved on,” but you’re still hurting

Grief isn’t linear. It’s not tidy. And you don’t have to go through it quietly or alone.

Grieving More Than Just Death

Loss doesn’t only come through bereavement. You might be grieving:

  • The end of a relationship or friendship

  • A miscarriage or infertility journey

  • A job, role, or life stage that gave you meaning

  • A version of yourself or your identity

  • A shift in faith or belonging

  • A future you hoped for that didn’t arrive

Therapy is a space where all of these losses are valid and where your grief can be held with care.

How Therapy Can Help With Grief & Loss
  • Make space for your grief, without needing to rush or justify it

  • Explore complex feelings like guilt, anger, or relief

  • Rebuild a sense of meaning and identity after loss

  • Learn ways to honour what (or who) was lost

  • Receive steady support when others don’t know what to say

  • Develop coping tools for the moments that feel unbearable

Grief is a wound. It deserves tending, not silencing.
